La traduzione non si improvvisa! È un insieme di abilità e di competenze nella "gestione" di quanto conosciamo sulla lingua e sulla cultura, sia nostra che di quelle lingue straniere da noi studiate ad apprese. Il lavoro del traduttore è oggi cambiato; si è passati dall'uso della traduzione "umana" a quella delle Machine Translation (CAT Tools e quant'altro) che per quanto possano dare risultati talvolta soddisfacenti, non sempre sono allo stesso livello di quelle umane.
Translaction is not something to fake. It is the group of competences about our own mothertongue and foreign languages we studied! But, working as translator is changed very much, as shown by the frequency in use of Machine Translation instead of Human one. Even if they gave any good works, the results couldn't be the same of a Human Translation!
La traducción no es algo que se inventa! Es el conjunto de competencias sobre las lenguas que hemos aprendido, tánto materna como extranjeras. El trabajo del traductor se ha evolucionado mucho y ero se demuestra en el uso siempre mas frequente de Máquinas de Traducciones que por cuanto puedan dar unos buenos resultados, nunca se pueden avalirar como los de la traducción humana.
We know that translation isn't something to fake or invent........but it's an authentic "art". In fact, translation is the result of our linguistic competences, both for the mothertongue and second foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, German and so on) we learn, both for having parents of two different nationalities, or for our own bilingual origins (such as Italo-American or Chinese-American, Hispano-American for example) that concerns the "bilingualism" and consequently, the phenomenon of "BILITERACY".
As said before, translation is ART and as well we can't invent it. It is the result of hard study of grammar, knowledge acquired in different ways and research on vocabulary, images, web sources with a meticulous work from the translator who is about to gave a loyalty to the source text (the text he/she is translating).
Translation is above all an "ability" which requires a lot of practice and knowledge not only of grammar and vocabulary, but also of the language culture; so that students start to translate whenever they begin to understand the culture of the speaking world people with reference to the Country of the language studied (Italian, Englis, Arabic...whatever it was) and even though there were trends of MACHINE TRANSLATION, CAT Tools and Computer Mediated Translation, it couldn't result more or less precise than Human Translation.
"La traduzione è un’abilità che richiede molta pratica e non funziona con l’apprendimento della lingua. Infatti, la lingua non s’impara traducendo e bisogna spiegarlo e dimostrarlo agli studenti con molti esempi. Ai miei studenti spiego che il computer non essendo un essere umano, non sa pensare e non capisce il significato delle parole e non conosce la cultura italiana, e per poter tradurre bisogna sapere la lingua e la cultura molto bene, quindi ad un livello avanzato. Con molta pazienza e dopo parecchi esempi, gli studenti incominciano a capire ed evitano di tradurre imparando l’italiano concentrandosi sulle quattro abilità di apprendimento: la scrittura, la lettura, l’ascolto e l’orale".
